I've got all Dell PC's in my office and remote locations. By default loading, Dell puts on a piece of software for the integrated Intel video card. Well, I was messing around and found out that there are hot keys that make the video drivers do different things to the screen. Hitting ctrl+alt+down arrow causes the screen to invert 180 degrees and makes the mouse move inverted too. Heh.

A person could fiddle around with the thing forever before they figured out what was wrong. Hitting ctrl+alt+up fixes the problem.

I was highly confused at one point in time when my cat decided to sleep on my laptop and my display ended up in black and white with the colors inverted.

Is that a dell thing or integrated intel graphics thing?

You can do that w/ nvidia drivers too... but not w/ a hotkey (that I'm aware of).

Not a Dell related prank but funny nonetheless: Screenshot of computer as background and then remove all icons and shrink/autohide start bar.

Cool. Does your video driver have a negative image hotkey?

Not sure. I've loaded lots of Intel integrated video drivers, but I've never seen this "feature" before.

I always like the one where you take a screenshot of a persons desktop. Next move all the desktop icons into and unsuspecting folder then set the screenshot as the wallpaper. When they come back, they will flip out cause they cant click on squat

SHOOT!!!!

Because in some cases, like the sticker on that LCD, the stickers don't come off well at all and leave a nasty patch of adhesive on the equipment.

As said above, sometimes they don't come off. Why do MANUF put them on like that... at least some got it right and make them removeable. My thinkpad had them on it, and I removed them after a while because the metal sticker was peeling up and driving me crazy when I typed. Then the adhesive left behind drove me crazier. I stuck a mini-postit over that spot but that was annoying as well.

So one day I used goof off to fix the problem. That worked, but, a few mo's later the coating on the thinkpad bubbled up and started peeling away there. At least it was a work PC and I didn't pay for it directly.

hehe fun with dell's :) I did a replacement of all startup screens on my floor on my last day....someone said it took them 3 days to figure out how to change the bootscreen back....people were told to keep their PC's off until they figured out what happened....I did my own too so they thought it was an network hack....
