Don't expect it to do too much...like this guy did. After one summer of landscaping and about all the options in the WORLD...I would DEFINATELY go w/ GAS powered if You're gonna make a business of it...
But if you're gonna just do it @ home, and the shrubs R small, AND YOU'RE GOING TO KEEP UP WITH IT!!!!, then this is a good option
I got a basic electric hedge trimmer from the Black and Decker outlet in Orlando FL for $17 bucks. It works like a champ, and has lasted me just fine. It will easilly clip off a finger, so it has power to spare.....
I just bought the corded model from Walmart B&M. They were on sale for around 50% off. I got the 22" Hedge Hog for $59 and it works great! It'll take a finger off in a second though so keep it away from children.
