Thats a funny pic. Some years hedge funds beat the market, other years they trail the market. The issue is they have high maintenance fees and even have fees on gains. This means when subtracting fees almost all fail to beat an index fund.

Lol, im in hf since 1999, good and bad times.. even the big guy SAC (currently) is having redemption problems. big risk is sometimes big rewards..

My coworker started his own fund 3 years ago, long short hf. One month he be up 50%, next he be down 25%.. investors doesn't like that.
