Yeah. When I get bored, I can read comics :)

I wont be making top dollar, but it will give me some good pocket money (of which I have none after gas/school/etc...)

How old are you?

I can't imagine not having a job, I've had one for almost three years straight.

I always thought working at a comic shop would be fun.

I miss going to the comic shop at the University of Maryland (Closet of Comics) and listening to all the guys talk about stuff that I'm interested in (mainly Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, DS9 etc).

Mmm-kay. While not the most, um, mature of jobs, I must commend you on something.

You HAVE a job! Congrats! I have a big problem with a lot of the under-21 set that feel that the world owes them something. I call them SlackerKids, because that's what they are. They sit around (when they should be in school) and do nothing all day. Then, they complain they have no money, no car and no girlfriend. AS you get older, you realize that in order to have #2 and #3, you must FIRST have #1! :D

Congrats on your job. Try to stay employed for more than a week, mmm-kay? ;)

Someone else who feels the same way I do. :) As much as I hate to say it, most of my generation is useless. We are lazy, self-centered, arrogant, & in many cases downright stoooopid. Thankfully most of us will make it out at some point.

I've seen a lot come & go where I work, you can spot them a mile away. They walk in the door carrying a skateboard (no joke), baggy jeans, & a backwards hat. The concept of a schedule means nothing to them, work takes a distant second place to partying. Sleep can take second at any time, leaving work an even more distant third.

They don't usually last long.

Well....Im 21.....but I have an excuse. Im handicapped and cant do most of the normal stuff people do on their first jobs (like stand at a cash register all day, or unload/load trucks, etc....)

Ive been on disability, but that just barely covers my bare necessities, so Ive been looking for a job that would either give me more than Disability and would be worth my time, or one that would give me some extra money, but not enough to stop my disability, and the comic shop thing is perfect!

Ive been trying like crazy here this past few months to get a job, though. I would be more than happy to take a job at one of the local computer shops, or even somewhere in the mall, but noplace is hiring right now.

But yeah, even though I have an excuse, Im a slacker

But...but.....MY JOB IS COOLER THAN YOURS!

You should feel very proud that you got yourself a job. Believe it or not, your employment status carries a lot of weight in the way that people perceive you. As long as you can say "yeah, I'm workin!" you can hold your head up high. I'll bet most of your buds are unemployed (due to their own fault...not layoffs), right? You are the better man. Keep up the good work.
