Hebrew National hotdogs? WTF?

edro

Lifer
I keep seeing Hebrew National hotdog commercials.... Their slogon is "We answer to a higher power!" WTF!

Since when was religion a good way to sell hotdogs?

On a side note.... what makes a certain meat "Kosher"? Does it have to be slaughtered by a slit throat and only by a Rabbi? That's what I heard anyways...

its all about meat being prepared a special way----kind alike "toutch the dead pig and fry in hell for all eternity" stuff

my father used to work for a poular American Meat company. He has told me about all the disgsting things that go into NON-Kosher hot dogs. YUUUUCK !

Kosher hot dogs are 100% pure beef...with no strange parts like lips, a$$ holes, etc. stuffed inside.

Plus the beef is monitored for cleanliness at much higher standards than non-kosher meat.

There are many other factors that go into 'kashut' (laws of kosher food).

once you eat a Kosher hot dog , or once someone clues you in to the actual ingredianets of a NON-kosher hot dog, you will stick with the kosher stuff foreva !

don't you want moral people overseeing the process? Or do you prefer hamsters and the occaisional mob informer mixed in with the cow noses?

but it ads a bit of zest to the flavoring!

Isn't that at Fry's, not Costco?

Kosher basically means that it's been prepared according to the kosher rules. If you look at a lot of food products, you might see a small "K" symbol or an "R" symbol somewhere on the label. One of them signifies that the product has been certified kosher by a rabbi or a special lab set up for this purpose (can't remember the exact name. Kashruth Labs?). The other one, any manufacturer can slap on their food to claim it's kosher, although it has not been officially certified. I can't remember which one is which, though.

These are the Hotdog's that tastes good

Bests, Sabrett, Nathans, Hebrew National, Boars Head, Oscar Myer with cheese inside em.

The nastiest is BallPark. I hate their advertising too~ something about " they plump when you cook'em" or something

Homer: Yo Apu, give me the usual.
Apu: Yes, sir. One Kwik-E-Dog, one bubble gum cigar and the latest issue of Success magazine.
Homer: Mmmm. Hey, this hot dog tastes different.
Apu: Yes, I just cleaned out the machine sir, so the snack you are enjoying has not been soaking in its putrid grease.
Homer: Yeah ... but without all the grease all you can taste is the hog anus.

🙂

I like Foster Farms' chicken hot dogs. Tastes better than beef hot dogs, with the exception of the Hebrew Nationals they sell at Costco.

Mmm...that's good Richie Aprile 😉

I'll have to try these sometime. I really enjoy a good natural casing hotdog from the butcher, we'll see if these stack up (can't always get to my normal butcher shop)
