Please no spoilers...

Does the game pick up? I am about and hour or so into right now and the game is just so slow paced and the story seems average right now.... does it get more exciting? or will i just be doing the same things over and over again?

No, it will definitely get more exciting.

A certain thing will happen to a certain character. Youll know it when it happens. This will set into motion a chain of events. You determine how those events will resolve by your actions and choices.

An hour in, you've probably poured some orange juice, scanned some fingerprints and shouted "Jasooooon!" a million times, but the game has hardly started.

I'd say it was about an hour and a half into it where i went, "wow. this is getting good" and then 2 hours when i said, "holy shit. this is amazing"

:( in what way? I'm kinda interested in this game.

I wouldn't say it sucked at all. I thought the ending was great, but that might be due to the ending that I got. Had one played the game with less care, they might have got an entirely different and unsatisfying ending.

Without giving away too much, this is a mystery game. If you/your characters don't solve or at least make headway on that mystery, I doubt you'll be happy with the ending. It won't be a happy ending, it will instead be very depressing because YOU failed. Not quite the game over and try again that we're used to - main characters can and will die, or fail to be at the right place at the right time and that will obviously have drastic effects on the outcome of the story.

You will also have to make several morally ambiguous choices, the consequences of which are not apparent at the time, and that alone can be a bit uncomfortable. There is no way to complete the game as a true hero like most games.

In a way, my characters figured the mystery out before I did, but when it all came to a head at the very end I thought it was incredibly satisfying since my decisions accomplished the goal. It's entirely possible to make decisions and fail at certain tasks that completely derail the solving of the mystery.

I was being facetious.

On my first play through, someone ended up dying that due to a seemingly unrelated action that I took. It actually kind of pissed me off :)

I suppose that was one of those morally ambiguous choices that led to unintended consequences?

There were definitely a lot of moments where I needed to act under extreme time pressure where I really had no good choices, and not making a choice at all could have been worst of all. That's part of what made it so great...lots of those "Man, this is SO fucked up!" moments.

It really is a landmark game in terms of storytelling, even if I thought the mechanics were kinda janky at times and often poorly acted. Those moments were relatively rare though, overall it's a very unique and awesome experience, but I don't think it's for everybody. It's definitely not your everyday video game.
