Heavy duty laptops..Where to find

Hi guys Im trying to help a buddy of mine who is possibly going to be going over seas to do some contract work and he is looking into buying a heavy duty notebook. Ive seen some of them around but I can seem to locate any sites or good places to look them up online.

Basically just looking for some of the super heavy duty laptops like you might see some contractors use possibly miltary type as well. I have seen them they tend to be monsters bout 2x-3x as thick as normal laptops.


Any links or names to search on would be super helpful.

The Dell Inspiron 9100 is about the most brute-force no finesse laptop on the market! It weighs in at a hefty 9Lbs though as a trade for the speed... :shocked:

nah thats not the same type of notebook I was looking for. The ones I am talking about are almost military grade. You probably wont see them on someone like dells main page. We are talking steel case about 3-5 inches thick

Dell for ruggedness? That's laughable at best...

IBM thinkpad's are the best and if you need a rugged, dutiable unit look no further than the Panasonic Toughbook.
