I was reading and I heard it takes about 5 minutes to finish. Hopefully it's a little longer, but I don't have a PS3 so someone else will have to give it a try.
 
5 minutes? I hope it's longer than that. Oh well, the game isn't that far off. Unfortunately I still have a little over 3 hrs of work left before I will have a chance to try this out.

Well, not for me. I think it was TOO short to make me want more. It wasn't long enough to get into it. I really liked it, but I don't even see myself going back to play the demo again since it was so short and won't be any different
 
Is the download speed on this horrible for anybody else? We just moved, so I don't know if it's the connection's fault.

I enjoyed the demo, but it was amazingly short.

Just like I had hoped, the gameplay reminds me of Ninja Gaiden mixed with God of War
 
So it took, god knows how long. I went to start the DL around 8-9pm. I woke up to hard raining on my window around 5am, checked the DL and it was done. So I figure, what the hell, I will try it out. I didn't really hear the dialogue, but the graphics are what we have been waiting for on the ps3. Sharp, crisp, and a great feeling of depth! Gameplay...well, at first glance, this is merely like God Of War...or Devil May Cry...looks like it will be fun to play, with next gen graphics, but similar to last gen quality. Actually if I was watching from a distance, I would think it was God of War. And the demo is way too damn short. I remember when demos on the PC used to be a couple levels!

At this point, it looks like some great eye candy without much depth. They will need to show me more in order to convience me to buy this instead of renting.

yeah its awesome, theres an incredible range of attacks, the counter attacks are pretty sweet, and i think you can stack combos with the different weapons too. it is pretty short but ran through it maybe 5 times so far, still having fun, finding combos/attacks etc.

It seems like combat does have some depth, but the problem is that the demo is too damn short to reveal this. Not to mention that this demo is OLD. Remember, this is the same demo Micah was playing in Heroes, which was aired like back in March or April. That means the demo is even older than that.

The devs also said more moves will be unlocked and the demo has a very limited number of moves. We will see.

I will take another look tonight. I just have a hard time seeing depth when there are tons of enemies you just plow through...

I didnt know they played it in Heros that long ago!! damn this game is taking FOREVER!

Question 1
There were a few problems with it that I would like to point out.
- First when you do super styles that abrupt music change is very odd. The volume increases and it just seems a little out of place. The music cut out every so often and there was even one part right at the beginning of the demo that the music was actually crackling.. it was strange.
Some bodies float as well.
But I had so much fun with the demo and I played through it about 12 times so far.

The volume increase was because they were 'super styles', however, I did nock them back a bit and do some balancing just a day or so ago.
The audio (music cutting out) glitches during the Ninja Sequence are also fixed.
FYI the demo was locked down ages ago, plenty of spit n polish has been done since then right.

It's not completely automatic, in that you need to be in the right stance to block the incoming move (or evade for unblockables).
For a NinjaChallenge - try completing the demo ONLY using counter-attacks

Please tell me the hard mode is available without having to play through once to unlock it?

HELL mode is available right off the bat, yes.
Bare in mind, that what you're playing now is a level early on in the story, you can scrape through it just by mashing buttons - try that in the later chapters and you'll get your (gorgeous) ass handed to you on a plate...

I heard today that we had to prove to Sony that the game could be completed in Hell Mode... a couple of ninja's managed it I believe. Seems the testers didn't! Hehe.

also, does anyone else notice the brightness of the game fading in and out? I keep thinking its my TV, but i'm curious...

Noticable points

- the demo is an old build probably from last years demo since its exactally the same level
- the game has improved significantly from the demos build
- many glitches are fixed
- sound issuses have also been fixed
