You are aware he is considered one of the leading authorities on astrophysics today, and was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics and Cambridge for 30 years. A position once held by Isaac Newton. To say he's well respected is an understatement. He is this generation's Einstein.

He was pretty good. Unfortunately he's entered the "star" zone where anything he says becomes The Gospel of Hawking, like this. As for Hawking, he is a genius, and I find it humors (but not surprising) that retarded Christians will claim his statement is false without a shred of evidence to back up their belief. Again funny, but not surprising.
