Heya

I just posted a thread in the FS/FT forum and it was locked in a matter of a couple of minutes (Maybe even seconds) and then I try to communicate with the AT mod that locked it and they are not responding to my pm's. Do the PM's goto a specific mod account or to the mod that actually sent me a pm?

I do not want to accuse the mod of ignoring me, but without notice that the pm is going to a general pm account for all mods it is hard to think otherwise.

It wasn't nothing but the truth and was intended to be a little tougher (sic)persuasion to get a user to post owed heatware.

Here is the
Link to my thread that got locked.

Is a thread like that really banned from AT or did I hit a nerve with a specific mod?

Mark

EDIT: fixed a typo in the title.

I think your thread would be locked by any mod, you were not singled out in my opinion. Your post was basically PM material, and the forum(s) would be overrun if any transient thought or complaint were allowed to be posted in a public manner (e.g., Off Topic).

Just like on eBay, you aren't going to get a positive review for every sucessful transaction you have. I have traded a little and do know for a fact that I left more heatware then I rec'd, but c'est la vie. As long as you are getting postive heatware then people will see the trend at least. You can always PM or email to encourage reciprocated heatware, but don't lose any sleep over it, is my advice.

Good luck.

If you've got a problem with a trade, contact the trollhunters, post in the forum if it's absolutely necessary. If your problem is that you haven't got a heatware eval after pestering somebody, I'm afraid you're out of luck. Heatware's great and everyone should use it, but some don't or show that they're lazy in not getting around to leaving evals.

Your thread was basically a public airing of your feelings about not having an eval yet. That's a waste of most people's time and it took up space that FS/FT threads want. Think of how rotten it would be if 10 other people posted about not getting evals. That's 10+ threads about nothing that I've gotta wade through.

Understand why it got locked yet?

As for the mods, the PM's go to "Anandtech Moderator" (i.e. whichever mod is around at the time)

Unless you *required* heatware as part of the deal you did, you have no 'right' to it. It sucks when the other person doesn't leave any (it happens often) but thats life.

Ya I agree on the PM instead of a public forum, but I tried pming for 10 days to no avail, so I automatically stepped it up, which was to post that on the fs/ft forum, because I know cupcake views that daily.

I have left more heatware then rec'd as well, but am getting tired of people building up theirs through legit trades, but not willing to do the same for the other half of those trades.

I guess live and learn. I have learned not to leave anyone heatware until it is left for me. I used to leave heatware for people right away, regardless if I have received heatware or not yet. That is now changed for me....

It sucks to be left out after a sucessfull transaction. Especially for those who work hard to ensure it goes smoothly and do an honorable job. And more profoundly if you are new and trying to build a rep. But regardless I personally leave heatware whether I get it or not. Sometimes they will see they forgot down the road and make it up when they see mine posted there. I leave a friendly reminder shortly after the deal is finished but I wont beg for it either. I have 215 but probably have left well over 250. Its always disproportionate but I would rather be guilty of being generous than to seem selfish. And selfish I would be to only give when I recieve.. :)

Snooker, thanks for the linking for Michelle in your sig by the way.. THAT sir is MOST generous.. :)
