heatware issue... what would you do?

has anyone had to deal with revenge heatware when purchasing an item? i have not left negative or neutral feedback yet but am inclined to. i'm concerned about revenge heatware however. thoughts?

basically it took a week for them to ship the item after telling me it would be out next day, here's the full story for those interested:

i purchased an item monday the 8th of january from someone perhaps an hour away.

i was told on tuesday the 9th that it would ship that day.

i contact the seller on friday the 12th asking where my package was.

received a message on saturday the 13th that it had not gone out and an excuse about being too busy. responded that i needed the item for an install on wednesday the 17th and please priority mail it to me that day (or monday at the latest, not thinking about the holiday).

received a message on sunday the 14th stating "it is out. you should have it monday." then another message about mlk and won't have it before tuesday earliest. this is still ok, install is wednesday.

received a message on monday the 15th asking if i would be able to meet somewhere to pick item up or if i still wanted it mailed.

responded yesterday (tuesday the 16th) mentioning that based on the pm from the 14th that i assumed it had been mailed and if the os didn't ship please refund me my purchase price and i would go buy it at best buy (sale for $80).

received a response same day at 10:56am stating that the pm on the 14th was meant for someone else and the package was already shipped via ups.

here is the package history:

WEST CHESTER, PA, US 01/17/2007 6:28 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY
01/17/2007 4:28 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
PHILADELPHIA, PA, US 01/17/2007 3:35 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
PHILADELPHIA, PA, US 01/16/2007 9:15 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
01/16/2007 5:21 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

Positive with a comment.

You needed it for the day specified, and by the shipping information you're getting it.

EDIT: If the package had arrived tomorrow, I would've voted to give him a neutral.

i still don't understand why people who need something by a certain time buy stuff from ebay or from other people who end up being unreliable. if you need it that bad, spend the extra bit of money and buy it from a store.

Will you get it in time for install? Have you lost any money because of this delay or something? If not then leave a neutral, don't be mean or rude in it, point out that they communicated well but shipping was an issue.

I don't agree. Regardless of when the OP needed it, the shipper was horribly delayed in shipping, and pretty much lied to the buyer. I wouldn't want to deal with that person. He told you it would ship on the 9th. He didn't ship it on the 9th, or 10th, or 11th, or 12th. You needed to do alot of bickering and communicating to even get the guy to uphold his end of the deal. That should not have to happen. That alone is cause for a negative.

I had a similar deal with someone who shipped a week after they said it would. If you miss the shipping by a day or two, that's understandable. But not an entire week. If you can't ship when you say you can, then don't be in the business.

Agreed, while I understand where the OP is coming from, you cannot buy from a dollar store and expect top flight customer service. Same goes for buying from people online. You need to leave him a positive & mention that it took him a week to ship it out, and then you need to look in the mirror and realize the world is not revolving around you.

God please don't let me run into some of the people who have posted here in For Sale/For Trade.

What the OP needed to do with the item is immaterial to the feedback discussion. Shipper said he'd ship a certain day, he didn't, didn't do it the next day, or the next day, or the next day. I still say if you can't manage selling/trading online, then don't do it at all.

He flat out lied to you there with proof positive in the end. I say negative. If he retaliates then go through the channels to dispute it.

i just read heatware tos and it would seem that they will address revenge feedback, i think i have a decent case to leave a neutral feedback, assuming when i receive the item today it is as advertised.

as a note aside, i was supposed to do the install on my bosses home computer earlier today. one of the reasons i purchased from him was proximity, i expected the package well before today having paid almost a week and a half ago.

thanks for the replies folks 🙂

As far as I remember, revenge feedback are removed immediately (assuming you bring it to the proper authorities attention).

No they're not. They're removed when heat23 removes them. That can be almost immediately, or it can take several weeks/months.

so if the OP bought from Dell, and it was suposed to be mailed/delivered on a certian day, but was delayed a week (without any word from dell, or being told it was) would it be OK?

How about comparing it to if Dell said it was shipped out and would arrive on the 17th, but it actually wasn't shipped out until days later, but still arrived on the 17th.

How about if you had to keep reminding Dell to ship the item you bought, and they kept saying, "It'll ship today" multiple times over?
