Heatsinks for DDR3 ECC memory

Hi,
i've bought 8x 8GB of Samsung DDR3 ECC 1333Mhz DIMMs to be used with a SuperMicro 2U chassis. Do i need heatsinks for 24/7 production usage?

Now i'm thinking to buy heatsink and wonder if i should buy copper or alu based.

Some of these are cheap and i wonder if they really use copper or just color it like copper 🙄

Heatsinks are unnecessary and not beneficial for DDR3 DIMMs.

Heatsinks are unnecessary and not beneficial for DDR3 DIMMs.

:thumbsup: DDR3 uses much less power than DDR2, so heatsinks are not required as long as the server is in a chassis with proper airflow.
