I'm trying to decide on a CPU cooler for my computer build. It will be an Athlon X2 3800+ with a 400 mhz Overclock. I need quiteness and also good cooling ability. Of the two HSFs mentioned above, which would be better? Or would something else be better than both for not a lot more $$?

The only advantage the Zalman 7000 has, is its not chip specifit.

The 64Pro is chip specific and can only be used on an AMD chip.

The 64Pro is the bargain of the month. The 64Pro going mano a mano with the 7000
would give it a spanking 😀

If your looking for something easy to install, and is quite, I would get the SI-120 from Thermalright.
Just couple that with a Nexas, or Yate Loon and it'll be a good performer while still being quite.

If you want extream performance (were talking a couple of degrees over the Yate Loon here, not worth it IMO) get one of the 120x38mm fans like a Panaflow or a Sanyo.
