Hi,
I'm Building a new rig (first one in a few years) and am looking for advice on CPU cooler options. The build includes the following components and I won't be overclocking.
Thermaltake Tsunami case
MSI 865pe PFISB neo-2 MB
P4 3.2E 800FSB HT
(2) WD 74Gb 10k drives in raid 0
1GB Corsair valueselect ram (two 512 sticks)
ATI X800 XT video card
Antec 480 watt neo-power PS
Plextor sata DVD drive
Case has two 120mm fans (front intake and rear outtake) and one 90mm intake fan on door that aligns across from CPU. My questions are:
Will a good heatsink (w/o fan) provide enough cooling with case fans?
Or should I get a heatsink w/fan CPU cooler?
If I get a heatsink/fan combo will 90mm side case fan hinder performance of cpu fan at all?
Priority is to keep components cool but would prefer running without CPU fan to keep noise levels down (case is rated as being fairly loud). It's predominantly a gaming rig so will be running for long periods of time with some stress. Thanks for advice.
