Heatsink on Gigabyte 9250 (GV-R925128D)

Ok, I got the card, and there is the silver thing with many pins on top of it (don't exactly know how to explain) ; anyways, there is no fan over the core of it, but on top of that there isn't a plug for the fan, so I'm assuming this is some sort of 'passive' heatsink? Will it affect the ability of the card, and should I not worry about it and just use it ?
