Heatsink Modification....how do you do it??

I was going to see if I could modify an old small heatsink to fit onto the mosfets on a motherboard. They are around 10 degrees higher in temp than the CPU sometimes. Has anyone modded one before? What tool do I use to break one into pieces to fit, do I need to polish the bottom afterwards? Any specific thermal epoxy to use?

Have not cut up a heatsink before, but a dremel should do the trick -- it is the best multi-purpose tool I have ever purchased. But before you attempt that, have you seen the new mosfet heatsinks Thermalright is previewing? The HR-09: http://www.thermalright.com/default.htm Check it out.

Thermalright is starting to get ridiculous if you ask me :laugh:
