Heatsink idea......would it work?

Hello! I recently thought of an idea concerning reducing the temperatures on processors. What would happen if you took an extremelly thin piece of copper and cut it to fit your heatsink...then take a very thin layer of thermal paste and applied it to the heatsink. After that, apply the piece of copper to the bottom of the heatsink and let it bond. Next, put a little thermal paste on the CPU and then gently apply the "copper-enhanced" heatsink/fan. Is there any chance that this might work? I'm just curious. This idea popped into my mind but I haven't tried it. I'm sure other people have thought of this idea as well, so I was just wondering if this was a stupid idea or one that *might* have a slim possibility of working. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my wild ideas! :)

Actually, that would probably work well!
That's the logic behind peltier's coldplates...
you'd have to make sure the thermal paste is AS at least, and in an UTLRA thin layer.
I think it would work :)

Actually depending on the heatsink used you could quite possibly lose a little bit of efficiency. Every bond that you have to make with thermal paste loses you a little bit of efficiency. As good as artic silver is, as I remeber it's thermal transfer is still lower than aluminum or copper.
