Hi guys,

I am in desparate need of help. I just purchased an additional cpu for my co's server. The server is a HP Proliant ML 350 G3 311525-001. The cpu is an Intel Xeon 2.8mhz 533 bus chip. HP sells their kit for $800, so I purchased a retail kit from zipzoomfly for $399. The retail kit came with the stock Intel HSF and windtunnel. The HSF and windtunnel does not fit in the cpu cage in the server. HP does not sell the heatsink separately and thus do not have a part number. Does anyone know of a third party heatsink or a supplier of spare parts possibly pulled from a similar server?

my neighbor also has dual xeons. I think the Coolermaster Aquagate Mini fits this socket. You may want to check it out.

Thanks, but I need one that fits in this specific server cage. I already have the stock hsf and it doesn't fit.

What size is the case? 4U, 2U? It looks like a tower server case. Give us some dimensions for the CPU cage... The best HSF for the Xeon that I know of won't fit most definitely... Have you tried ebay & froogle? Where all have you looked so far?

I found this 1U heatsink. Is the proc cage ventage / have active cooling go through it, or do you need a heatsink & fan?

EDIT: FYI, to find that, I googled "1U Xeon cooler", so you might be able to find what you are looking for doing that. 1U is the smallest there is; if a 1U HS doesn't fit, then you are getting into proprietary stuff, which is going to be damn near impossible to find, AFAIK.
