I am about to put together a Amd athlon computer and needs some imput in what
heatsink i should get. This is the other vital parts:

antec SX1030b
Asus a7v333
amd athlon xp 2000
mushkin 512Mb pc2700 memmory

I am looking for good heatsink/fan combo that is not too noice and doesnt cost an
arm and a leg while still beeing easy to find.

I heard panaflo makes quiet fans, but the one i found says case fans is that the same
as hs-fan and what type of connector should it have 3pin 4pin?

looking forward to some input

Look into the thermalright ax-7 with Panaflo l1a and some Artic Silver 3. The l1a's are extremely quiet and generally come with a 2 pin connector that plugs into the mobo. You can order the 3 pin adapter from NewEgg which allows fan monitoring through the BIOS.

the AX-7 is a nice heatsink
the SLK-800 is also a nice heatsink
it costs a little more but because it is larger you can put a lower rpm 80mm fan on there
the sound will be less and it will still cool just as well

If you want a quiet HSF, go AX7 over SLK800. SLK is copper so it performs much worse with lower CFM fans. Get an AX7 with any fan under 2200RPM and it will be quiet. Panaflos are more expensive, but makes your computer more quiet...
