Heatsink Fan Questions

Which fan(s) would people recommend for a Megehalem cooler on a i7 920 (I'm going for a what should be a moderate OC 3.6 - 4.0 GHz)? After doing some reading I'm considering the Scythe S-Flex (1600 or 1900 RPM version), Yate Loon Medium speed (1650 RPMs) or maybe even the Noiseblocker MF12-S2? I'm looking for good cooling and fairly silent.

I'm pretty sure that a 120mm x38mm will block a RAM slot so I won't be going with one of those.

Also, for cooling performance/noise level, is it better to go with one faster fan or two slower fans?

Thanks in advance!

Scythe GT. Best on a rad/heatsink. There is no other.

I thought I read that they were a little lacking in static pressure... or am I misremembering that?

Also, would is one 1450 RPM one be enough to get a decent OC? Or would two 1450 RPMs be better? How does the noise/airflow between 1 1850 RPM fan and two 1450 RPM fans compare?

Cheers!

I think you might be misremembering (but I could be too!) 😉. Nothing compares to the performance and noise of a GT (especially on a rad). I haven't owned or known anybody who has owned a 1450 RPM one, but I have and know people with the 1850 RPM model. Boy, it is one hell of a fan. Top quality, solid feel, well constructed. People here have recommended dropping them from heights. It's quiet as hell and moves a ton of air, so I guess if the 1850 RPM is pretty damn quiet already, the 1450 must be dead silent...
