ok i am getting ready to quiet my case down, right now my Vantec HS came with a delta 60mm, and there is no way I will be able to sleep in a 9x12" room in my apartment with that racket. What I am thinking about doing is getting 2 quieter 60mm fans and mounting them both on top of the heatsink. Currently the delta fan is held on by 4 screws that screw into 2 U shaped brackets that fit on the top of the heatsink. What if I cut the u-shaped brackets, and let the ends of the 2 new quieter fans hang over the edge? will only 2 screws be enough to hold the fans on there? I will try and show you what I mean below:
