Heatsink Fan question

Hello, recently I took the fan that was on top of my heatsink out so I could replace my PSU, but I'm unable to put the fan back on since they were connected by these long stretch rubber things that I can't firmly fit back into the holes. How would I fix this, would it ok to just tape the fan securely back onto the heatsink?

sounds like a mickey mouse setup. I'd order a better cooling unit. Better on/off and better cooling.

How can you say that without knowing what the OP has or can purchase?

Because holding your heatsink on with tape, rubberbands, dental floss, and duct tape smacks of stupidity imho.:D
