Heatsink Fan Question

I'm building my 1st computer right now and I just had a thought. Does the CPU fan face up or down? I'd think facing down towards the CPU would be correct, but heck, I'm not positive. It is down...right? (not enough airflow to pull heat off the CPU by facing up I'd think)

Yeah, there my question...and yes, I feel a lil dumb.

But, once I get all this junk put together, I'll be in some serious business!!

It depends on the heatsink but in 95% of the cases down is better. What heatsink are you using?

The fans on Alpha HS suck air off the HS, every other one I know of, blows air down onto the HS.
