heatsink fan on card not working

I have a geforce3 ti200 who's fan has stopped working. The fan sits on top of a heat sink. I never overclock my video cards. Should I go and buy a new fan for it or would it be ok with just the heat sink over the gpu?

thanks

The GF3 gets quite hot. Replace the fan or entire heatsink unit if you're able. If you don't want to remove the factory heatsink, simply unscrew the fan from the heatsink and prop a case fan towards the card like in this example.

You can get instructions on how to build the fan bracket at the below site.

A Dual VooDoo2 setup! Woohooo, used to have one in my old 200....Q2 days!

A GPU at 175mhz should have at least passive cooling, 200mhz or faster really needs active cooling.

(200mhz = Geforce2 GTS).
