Just got a new 2.8c p4.. and the stupid clip on the retail heatsink is busted.. (you know where you flip the litte plastic toggle things over and locks down.) right there it busted in half..

So.. Do I have to go through the whole RMA process or is there someplace that just sells the clips that I can order and probably get it cheaper then the rma thing??

Thanks.

Is this the piece that comes attached to the motherboard itself? If so, here's one place to get one, look near the bottom of this page. You can also get a metal version which even has cleats to allow using a SocketA heatsink from here.

If it's a part from the heatsink itself, then maybe the second line in my signature applies to this situation :D

you have the plastic part that goes over and is suppose to clip into the motherboard clips.. It also has those little toggle's on it as well.. that is the part the broke.. on the heatsink..

If it were me, I'd put up a WTB: Retail P4 Heatsink ASAP thread in the For Sale & Trade area. You should have one nailed down within an hour :)
