HeatSink broke off mobo

How can i figure out what kind of heatsink i need? Its a p4 2.4 ghz

get the model number off the chip. with that you should be able to google it and find what socket heatsink/fan you need. iam thinking it should be socket 478 but i might be wrong

Yes, just get any old Socket 478 compatible HSF and you'll be fine.

Did the heat sink itself break, or just the bracket? Because the latter is a bit cheaper to replace.
