heatpipe question

My new vid card has heatpipes instead of a fan. My knowledge of the technology states that the pipes only work if they are going up, thus, will this card cool properly when sideways in a standard tower config?
 
The heatpipes have wick inside to help draw the fluid against gravity so they will work from just about any orientation. Though if it's flipped completely upside down performance may be decreased.
 
I have that card and it works great in my tower. GPU temp is about 47C. I don't game, so it isn't pushed hard, but I think you'll find that it works great.
