Heating Water for Tea

This is a trick question, right?

You're either using a kettle or you're not.

edit: Oh, in a microwave. Yeah what Summit said.

Tea kettle for loose leaves... you just put the teabag in ur cup if you have a bag.

lol 2 teabags, 1 cup

the water from the microwave will be slightly irradiated (similar to levels of radiation sent into your brain from a cell phone). *I* think it should be fine to drink, but who really knows for sure. The microwave itselft is likely a a government plot designed to make us forget how to cook so we depend on state-run restaurants for sustenance.

It's non ionizing radiation so no worries there.

Smart is sexy.

What I find weird with Microwaving water, is the foam that developes when adding stuff to it. I prefer doing it that way though, much quicker.

I'm incoherent 'til I've had my first cup.
Boooourns.

Ah, wonderful science education:
One of the comments says, "isn't that coffee radiactive?"

I really hate it when I shine a flashlight on something, and it starts emitting gamma and beta radiation.

2 teabags for a cup? Wow like it strong? :Q

I would think lasers would be so much faster than that.

Actually it's very fast. Much faster than a 1000W radarrange. The laser output is 2.5kW and all of the energy is going into the water. The beam is actually near collimated as its waist is evident about a foot above one of the mugs. Also like a microwave it's possible to superheat the water above the boiling point so by the time that water is churning it's above 100°C. (unless the lab is at high elevation hehe)

Of course flashlights don't have a caution/danger label on them with the word 'RADIATION' on it. If they started putting them on it people would be afraid of them.

But what about the quantum flux?

And another thing, is my quicker-boiling water at 6800 feet more toxic than the 212 degree stuff you get at sea level? 😛
