Hey guys,

I've a few little issues with my I5 760 and wondered if you can advice. I've an arctic freezer HSF (which is mounted weirdly with the heatsink off to one side) and due to my motherboard I have to place it the wrong way round, so it blows air INTO! the case...with no fan at the front.

Anyway, my temps were going up to 68oC or so but now have started going upto 72..And this is all at stock! (Well, I presume it's stock though a 2.8ghz cpu reads as 2.9..)

Should I just put the stock HSF back on? Reseat the current one? Put up with the current temps?

Advice welcomed :)

Sounds like you have air flow issues.

Try to find a solution that will allow you to get fresh air to your cpu/case. Your temps will drop considerably once you get some fresh air to your HSF.

Hi,

thanks for the info! I've had a bit of a weird solution but it seems to be okay..Bearing in mind I don't OC and am just considering the life of my components at stock does this sound okay?

I've turned round the rear fan so it blows over the CPU, which also blows toward the front of the case. essentially all my fans are facing the front of the case and ive opened the case at the front...temps have dropped to 65oC under full load...9oC difference..Think that'll be fine?

If running stock settings the only reason to worry about temperature is if your processor is throttling.

Well temps of 60's and 70's is ok. I believe the CPU will shutdown comp if it gets to TJ Max

probably 90c

Your safe, but dont do any OCing youll blow it up.. thx
