heating or cooling?

I'm more interested in the ones that swirl the can so that it cools faster (in a few seconds so they say.

Dunno how cold that plate gets, but it seems like it'd take a bit to cool off a can from room temp.

Apparently it hovers around 7 degrees Celcius without a can and it's about 4 degrees Celsius cooler after one hour, meaning it looks cool, but it's useless.

It says that the cooler surface can get down to 51F. Thats pretty much useless when you realize that this temperature (its limit) is WITHOUT a beverage on top, sucking in heat from the ambient air. Is it really useful (let alone worth the money) if it can only keep your drink at ~60-70F?
