heating blankets

My GF gets cold easily, I think it must be a girl thing... Anyways, I know she had mentioned several times that she would like a heating blanket. I do keep my ears open and when I heard this I thought great I have something I can get her for her birthday in addition to something else I am giving her which happens to be just a small little gift.

I spoke to her mother and confirmed that this is something that my GF does infact want. Anyway, I need help in picking what brand/model of heating blanket to get.

I have looked on Costcos website and they have one for $69.99 for the full size.

Anyone know if this is a decent model or where I can find a better one. I am willing to go as high as $120. I was also thinking just to make it more of a "special" gift that I could just get a stuffed animal or something wrapped up in the blanket when I give it to her.... I Will figuere that part out later.

Get your GF a nightcap and a nice down comforter (a good one should be around $200+) and a microfleece blanket. These 3 together will make her SWEAT

WE had a great mattress pad before we moved (It disappeared in the move somehow). it was great! with the nice down comforter we had i was nice and toasty! i would keep the heat way down in the winter and bundle up at night. of course that was before my daughter was born. had to crank the heat up for the baby heh.

but now she is 3 i am thinking of getting another mattress pads and some nice sheets comforter for my daughter. then let the heat drop to 50-55 at night (its not at 58).

Remember the advantage to buying at Costco is if you don't like it you can take it back without question. I have a sunbeam but that's a good price and as always if it doesn't work right you don't have to keep it.

Damn no Macy's on the west coast. I wonder if Meier & Frank or Nordstrom would carry this?

M&F has better prices and usually has 20% off coupons in Fri/Sat newspapers.

I've used electric blankets for years and wouldn't go through a winter without one. We've had our current queen sized Sunbeam for about 4 years now and it works like a champ. It's been through multiple washings without a problem.
