heatercore vs. radiator

hey guys, just wondering if anyone can answer my question.

I just got a black ice extreme radiator, but for some reason I think I should've looked for a heater core instead. can someone explain the difference to me? as far as how they are different, I heard the heater core was better. if it is, why? is the path of the water different?

tks in advance.

AFAIK, they're basically the same thing, but a heatercore tends to be bigger and thicker, hence the better performance
all radiators can have different designs that affect performance, and the design of most heatercores is typically the best

heatercores can also be a lot cheaper, but the black ices are more convenient

The black ice is more expensive but will work right out of the box. A heatercore should be much cheaper but you might have to mod it to the fitting size you want.
