heat thermostat question

So...is there electricity used when your thermostat is on but the heat is not on?

For example, is less electricity used if you turn the heat on in 15 min intervals vs. the thermostat turning the heat on every 15 min? Or is the difference negligble?

dumb question.

no. the control circuits use almost no energy. it is so little that you don't need to worry about it. less than a dim light bulb
