Heat Sinks For new Dual Core Athlon 64 Desktop cpu's?

Will the Heat Sinks for the Athlon 64 939 cpu also work well with the new Athlon 64 Dual Cores that are coming out in June?

Also how much do you think they will be? I hope I can get one for around $350 or less.

I'm planning on using the same HSF. I have a thermaltake pipe101 with a blue led fan on it. I think that should be enough.

The Old Heat sink may not work the base may not be able to make contact with both core's. if this is true the stock ones that the will come with will be good untill the vedords make some to go with the dual cores.

I think current heatsinks will work just fine if the dual core CPU's have a heat spreader like all previous socket 939 chips.

There's a heatspreader covering both cores, contact will not be a problem.

Exactly. The same heatspreader and basically the same thermal envelope should call for the same heatsink.

yeah, as long as it is the same size, and the base of the heatsink covers it, there shouldnt be a problem.

My guess is that certainly 2 512k cache 90nm CPUs will be similarly sized to 1 1024k 130nm CPU - have you seen how huge the Clawhammer cores are?
Also, the HSF needs to contact above the cores - the IHS doesn't do that good a job at spreading the heat, and if there is a section of core that is not covered by the HSF, it will get quite hot... (there are some HSFs that don't cover the whole IHS)

Per Anandtechs review on the front page the cheapest dual core the 4200+ will be $560

The total thermal output for an AMD brand DUAL CORE Chip is said to be less than 100 watts (around 90), so any currently validated cooling solution avalable today should work. Personaly I am buying the retail box and using what ever AMD supplies.
