I've seen reviews with the SanyoDenki fan which is one of the better performing "silent" 60mm fans sold..

I'm partial to the Volcano II's fan at around 26cfm and about 33db's.. nice balance.. I want to see that used a little more as I bought a VII for around $9 just to stick that fan on my Alpha..
 
Sanyo Denki are great fans, every fan manufactor has there own hum. Sanyo Denki have a deeper hum less noticable to our ears, the way they are built they got some good wieght to em over the others. Too bad there like 15-22 bucks a peice! Brass screw threads, brass fan hub...with the extra wieght, sure would make the fan itself to vibrate alot less, smoother rotation, more stablized, less noise resonated through the casing of the fan? Maybe i guess
