I'm looking for a heat sink that can be used on either a p4, or a 3200+. I'll be using a friends p4 1.4 for a while, but will prolly be upgrading to a 3200 64 in the next month or so. I'd like to pick up a good cooler that can be used on both. Any suggestions?

Get Zalman CNPS AlCuA-700, it can be used on P4, A64 & Athlon XP, do not buy the copper version as it costs a lot more then the Copper-Alumunium hybrid but gives only a difference of 2-3C, find on newegg

Thermalright SLK-948U , with Artic Silver or Ceramique.

IMO this is the best heatsink for both brands.

Thermalright SLK's are excellent, easy to install, and have a wider base of users to share your findings with. Do a search on pricewatch.com for competitive prices.

If your on a budget, and your case doesn't allow you to use a Zalman, the Samurai Scythe is also a very nice option. Otherwise, go with the Thermalright or Zalman - budget permitting.

The TR or Zalmans suggested in the thread already are excellent coolers, with different strengths. You won't find yourself thinking later that you should have gotten the other one.
Slow the fan down, the Zalmans start to beef up, leaving anything TR has out behind, and the differences between the two of them become near nothing.
Slap a speedy fan on the TR SLK948-U and watch it come away with the gold.
