I am looking for a CPU heat sink for a Socket 370 processor (Intel PIII 850). This heat
sink will be utilized a 1U rack mount server. We have two blowers to provide air flow
across the heat sink so what we are looking for is just a passive heat
sink. It must fit in a 60Lx50Wx24H MM profile. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks,

Sure......

1U = 1.75"

A 1U server means that it is 1.75 inches high and fits into a standard 19" rack (width), the spacing of the mounting holes for the rack are 1U or 1.75". The servers have become very popular in colocation and datacenters because they use very little space.

The problem is in the aspect ratio of the server, It is very difficult to cool such a narrow box. Here is an example of the form factor: http://www.crystalpc.com/products/computers/cs200.asp

Hope this helps,

Kevin

Kevin, the best thing I can think of is to cut down a FOP3*/Alpha Pal heatsink to the required heigth.
The FOP3* heatsink would be better than the alpha though (easier for air to flow through it)
But you will have to custom mod it unfortunately :(

I think an Alpha Pal6035 or even a Pep66 heat sink will do a great job. Somebody on this board is just using an Alpha Pal6035 with no fans to cool there 1.1ghz t-bird.
