i was just thinking could one buy an once of silver melt it down and then coat there heat sink in thinking would this not pull more heat of cpu or would this be more work than its worth? tia

I think that it would take more than one coating to really do any good. Plus I imagine that this would create a pretty uneven surface for the processor the rest against.

Erhm....

Silver & copper are great heat conductors while aluminum is good for heat dissapation.

Therefore the best would probably be a silver or copper HS covered with aluminum, right?

or if you could find some way to take out the copper inlay on an Alpha PAL6035(if it's even possible) and replace it with silver, it would help i think 🙂

if you decide to try it, make sure you tell us how it goes 😉
