Heat sink compound solvent?

Good Day all....

I have a P4 2.4 stuck to a damn retail heatsink (OEM computer) and I need to get the processor seperated from the heat sink. Is there such a thing as processor compound dissolvent>?

Good Ideas.....would you guys have a recommendation on the application method? I am hoping to avoid melting any of the PCB away with the sink compound

Be careful. I remember using some solvent on my friends athlon to clean up heat sink grease and it ate away a little at the underfill around the chip. Why not just twist it off?
