Heat problems due to bios settings on Abit KT7-RAID

Anyone notice that temps jump up about 8-10C when the FAST CPU DECODE is set to FAST, and ENABLE CHIP PERFORMANCE is Enabled in the bios? I'd been running my CPU at a median temp of 40C and as high as 59C at full load running Q3 until I turned off those settings. Now it runs at 32C idle and 43C full load. I tried this on two different CPU's btw.

Lightingguy: There's very little benefit in Fast Writes presently... :)

agaliza: Thank you for the tip. I just wondered how my T-bird could get up to 46ºC with the pretty fat fan I have... Got to try and see if it works...
Btw, are you sure that both of those two settings will raise your CPU temp? You haven't singled out a specific one of them, perhaps?

Hmm, don't get that problem when I do those BIOS changes, I checked.

I'll 3DMark 2000 with and without fast writes and get back to you.

Yes, it's only a benchmark.

Hi,
Enhance cpu performance increases memory performance by 5-10%. Do a something like a sisoft benchmark on memory, you'll see it. This is way better than fast writes.
