CPU: Pentium 4 2.4B
Mobo: Albatron PX845PEV Pro
BIOS Version: 1.04
RAM: Kingston HyperX PC3000 512MB
OS: Windows XP Pro
FSB: 133 MHz
DDR: 366 MHz

Motherbaord Monitor 5 config
Temp 1: Winbond 1
Temp 2: Winbond 2 Diode
Temp 3: Winbond 3

With case fans running at reduced RPM:
with Prime95 running
Temp 1: 52 C
Temp 2: 37 C
Temp 3: 48 C
PRIME95 FAILS self check whenever temp 3 is 48 C. Prime95 fails self check portion a little while after temp 3 reads 48 C. Reruns of Prime95 fails on earlier tests until test 1 fails. Ie. from cold boot, Prime95 gets to test 14 before self check failure. Immediately restarting the torture test results in Prime95 failture at test 4. Immediate restart after that fails at test 1. If CPU is left idle for a while, Prime95 fails at a later test than test 1.

With case fans running at normal RPM:
with Prim95 running
Temp 1: 51 C
Temp 2: 35 C
Temp 3: 47 C
Prime95 passes self check and proceeds to normal tests.

It seems like Temp 3 is the CPU temp since it the closest match to what the CPU temp says in the BIOS. I thought Pentium 4's were rated up to 70 C? I don't understand why 1 C would cause Prime95 to fail at default settings? I've heard that high temps on the northbridge can be a problem, is that what is causing my system to fail? Is 51C the northbridge temperature? I am very confused at the moment. Thanks for any help.

It could also be your memory that is failing when it gets hot. Try a memory cooling kit.

The Kingston HyperX already has heatspeaders on it so I don't know what else I can put on there.

Have you tried running memtest-86? Might be your memory causing prime to fail.
