Apparent heart attack.

Who didn't see this coming?

A regular patron and unofficial spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill has died of an apparent heart attack, the restaurant's owner said on Monday.

John Alleman reportedly suffered a heart attack last week outside the Las Vegas restaurant, according to the Las Vegas Sun. The 52-year-old was taken off life support on Monday.

Alleman, who was not on the restaurant's payroll, inspired the "Patient John" character that appears on the restaurant's menu.

"He lived a very full life," Jon Basso, owner of the Heart Attack Grill, told the newspaper. "He will be missed."

“I told him if you keep eating like this, it’s going to kill ya,” Basso said. “He’d say, 'I just love your place, Jon.' He’s the only person I know who was probably at the restaurant more than I [was]; he’d be here every darned day.”

Alleman is the second unofficial Heart Attack Grill spokesman to die in as many years.

In March 2011, Blair River, the restaurant's 575-pound representative, died from complications stemming from pneumonia. He was 29.

It's their choice where they eat. I can't believe that dude went there just about every single day though according to the owner.

Free food kills!

Here's an experiment. Pick a dozen morbidly obese people in the same age range as the two spokesmen who follow bad diets that do NOT include Heart Attack Grill. Watch them for two years. What are the chances that one or more of them will die of a heart attack in those two years?

Better to die fat and happy than live well into your 90s and be miserable because you've been eating food you hate your whole life.

No, it really isn't. I watched my Dad die from complications from diabetes, it is years of failing health, heart surgeries, stroke, kidney failure. You'd have to be out of your fucking mind to want that.

They were 52 and 29.

Are you kidding?

Only half. I think that it's a personal choice. If they're unhappy with being morbidly obese and extremely unhealthy to the point that they die well short of normal human life expectancy, it's on them to change. But you temper that mentality with the fact that our culture rewards people who eat to excess, that we have a love of all things fried and treat bacon as a Christ figure in meat form. Eating things you despise to live a long life seems just as bad to me as eating nothing but stuff you love but dying at 30. Everything in moderation.

The waitresses who work there are hot. And they wheel you to your car after you are finished with your burger.

Who the hell despises eating a reasonable diet? American adults (hopefully) aren't 10 year old kids who eat nothing but chicken buggets and fries only.

No one who is of any sort of maturity should ever despse eating a salad every once in a while, or maybe not getting that 4th dish full of food.

Freedom means the freedom to fuck yourself up through poor choices. If someone can't be bothered to control themselves, how does that affect me? It doesn't, so I don't rightly care. I just don't want people to act like this obesity epidemic is something the government needs to deal with, because the last thing I want is somebody telling me that I'm only allowed 16 oz of soda when I go to the movies. These people had the opportunity to eat a healthy diet and get exercise and they chose not to; that's on them. I hope they enjoyed themselves while they lived.
