Hearing Aids

I've had 30%+ hearing loss in one ear since I was 10 and since 2000 I've had 30-40% hearing loss in both. I've never had a hearing aid and am getting up into my upper 20s now and am a little less worried about what they look like. If anyone is wondering, my hearing loss occurred due to a semi-rare infection known as a cholesteatoma. I've had four of the little bastahds. 😛

Anyway, I'm looking into this and don't think I can do a full in the canal aid and will probably have to do one that is the next size up. And that might not even be possible really. If anyone has any advice at all I'd be glad if you would share it. Everything from brands to pricing, etc.

Thanks,
Lance

My father needed hearing aids badly before he passed. If you can afford it maybe they will make your life easier. I know if he had them he would have been better off.

Cholesteatoma isn't "semi-rare."
cholesteatoma is a relatively common reason for the otologic consultatory surgeries that occur on a weekly basis in children's hospitals.

What range are you? Slight (16-25dB), mild (26-40dB), moderate (41-55dB)? I know you're not above that.
