a bootable version? I still have an older bootable version that a friend gave me that i use for family and friends (I'm the family and neighborhood p/c doctor...pretty scary i know) and has worked fine....except i'm thinking that with the upgrades and all there might be an advantage to using a newer bootable....assuming there is one?

Anyone?

I should add that I did not see anything on this on the Avast site....just thinking that maybe I somehow missed it or someone has a home baked creation for it.

You need to check their forum. I got a "soon to be abandoned" fell last I looked. Is not free though. Probably better to dig in to UBCD for Windows http://www.ubcd4win.com/ check forum for possibilities. Opposite some other highly popular tools this is also legal.
