I watch AVGN's stuff about the sega CD, the 32X, the 3DO, even that virtual boy thing, they all looked pretty lousy but this is the most hopeless thing ive ever seen. The barcode battler! Watch the video review for an idea of how garbage it is. I really wonder how they came up with that hahah...
 
ah too bad, it's blocked at work for me, but I remember that. well, for something that is almost 20 years old, what do you expect? I remember kids at the grocery store scanning things so they can battle.

I think the most powerful item was the barcode from a twinkie.

I vaguely remember something similar during the mid-90s. In fact, didn't the GBA have a barcode reader at one point as well? What a dumb idea for a game system.

1000+ DR: Resists all physical attack, plague, nuclear war, and apocalypse. I wonder what would happen if I took the barcode off a George Forman Grill. Would he come and beat the ass of my opponent?
