heard installing AMD cpu with NVIDIA graphic card cause problem?

is this true? i read somewhere long time ago about if installing amd cpu with ati/amd graphic card.... either amd or intel will auto disable their functions.... like physics features or something.

i dont really remember. who can straighten?

in future i might build a computer with amd cpu with nvidia card. just want to know if it may cause conflict.

There shouldn't be any problems with using an AMD CPU and an nVidia GPU in the same desktop.

You won't be able to use Physx if you're using an AMD/ATI GPU. Few games use Physx, and it doesn't stop you from being able to play them. Few games even have the Physx feature, and the one game that I can think of that does is Mafia 3. All it did was add very minor debris detail. Some people argued it actually made the game look less realistic.

Actually, I think Mirror's Edge uses Physx too. But the game sucked....

There is absolutely no issues at all using an AMD CPU with an Nvidia GPU. It will work flawlessly without a hitch. Physx functions is determined by the GPU itself and if you're using Nvidia GPU then you will be able to use Physx which is limited to Nvidia GPUs. After all, Physx is a creation by Nvidia.

Another thing is that SLI will not work on an AMD motherboard without tweaking as it is not an AMD chipset factory preset to have SLI. That however will soon change as SLI will be supported by the upcoming 900 series chipsets from AMD.

CPU whether it is AMD or Intel and GPU if it is AMD or Nvidia does not have such dependencies where features will be disabled.

It should be launched at June 1st. The AM3+ plaform or AM3+ motherboards should be announced around June 7th together with the announcement of Bulldozer. Launches for all the related products should be within the same month.

This is usually an issue having to do with incompatibility between specific Motherboards and video cards. Sometimes this issue can cause problems. Sometimes some video card brands are more affected than others.
