Hi,
I bought a new Intel motherboard DG41WV last week. I have installed everything, then when I boot up, here is what happen:

1. first I hear a beep

2. intel logo show

3. second beep

4. windows logo and start to load as normal, everything work fine

So there isn't any error, just I have never used any computer that would give me 2 beeps. I know there is beep code that indicate any problem while boot up, but it doesn't look like any problem at all, no error message and everything run fine.

Is this just the new style of Intel motherboard? Or my motherboard has some serious problem so I should return to the shop?
My config :
Intel core2duo 2.93 Ghz E7500
Intel DG41WV
Kingston 2 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
WD Sata 320 GB

Thanks a lot!

I can't guarantee that's normal for an Intel board, but it's quite common to have two separated beeps on bootup of a motherboard. It's likely related to what brand of BIOS they are using.

And sorry my MOB is DG41WV and not TY

They are there for a reason. They come from the tiny internal speaker connected to your mobo. You can disconnect that speaker if you like, but then, if it is trying to tell you something, you won't get the message.

All my systems give one beep after POST just prior to loading Windows.

I own serveral FoxConn boards and, as I recall, they give one beep after the first BIOS check and a second beep right before starting the boot to disk.

The most annoying beeps to me are HP servers, which give TWO beeps right before booting. Historically, two beeps meant that something was wrong. I cringe every time I boot an HP server and hear those two beeps.

O.P.:
If your motherboard doesn't have a built-in speaker, then you can simply unplug the four-pin speaker connector that goes to your motherboard. Some boards have built-in speakers and I imagine those can be disabled in BIOS.

As noted by CorkyG, beep codes are also used to diagnose low-level problems with things like keyboard, video, memory, and other hardware issues that'd be difficult to diagnose otherwise.

Thanks,
However looks like my motherboard has inbuilt speaker which can not be removed, looks like I have to live with it.
Bios also does not seem to hv option to disable beeps.
Is there anybody with intel DG41 series mob with same issue.
Intel website shows 2 short beeps means "Parity Error".
What is the parity error?
This DG41WV mob supports DDR3 1333 Mhz memory by downclocking to 1066 Mhz, and i am using memory with 1330 Mhz, can this be the cause?

Thanks in advance.

Parity error means a problem with the memory. But you seemed to describe two distinct single beeps. The two short beeps of a parity error would likely be spaced less than a second apart.

Found this thread on searching on this very subject. I'm a computer tech and just brought in one of these boards to sell. The beep is normal but VERY VERY loud. Not mildly annoying but glass shattering, dog howling, smoke detector wake the dead loud. It sounds like my UPS or my smoke alarm going off. Seriously when in first booted I turned toward my UPS to check it. This is unacceptably to loud. Would it harm the speaker to perhaps place some masking tape over it to muffle the sound? I do not want to disable it but just tone the volume down some.

If it's a conventional "cone" speaker made with fabric, that might be problematic. If it's one of the tiny "solid-state-like" speakers, then I imagine that'd work. Never tried it.

I assembled a Intel Core2Duo processor on a Intel DG41WV Motherboard but the system doesn't boot instead keeps giving long beep sounds in regular intervals. But when I install a Dual Core E5400 processor on the same board it works fine. The C2D processor E7500 works fine on another Intel Motherboard DG31PR.
I diagnosed and found neither the board nor the processor nor any other component installed on it is faulty but the system doesn't boot
I did install the OS with the Dual Core processor on DG41WV and flashed the BIOS with the latest update for the board available but still I'm no where near fixing the issue

I have used the following components with the CPU
DDR3 RAM 1033Mhz - Works fine
Seagate 500 GB SATA - Works fine

I checked the comparability of the board with processor and the Intel site says its compatible.

Can someone help me please??

I have the same board and processor. I remember I was able to shut them off through bios. I forgot how I did it but will figure it out and get back to you.
