Health insurance while in college...

Okay, I haven't run into this problem yet, but I think it may be coming. My parents told me that I could be a rider on their health insurance at no cost as long as I was going to college full time. Well... I kind of screwed up when I had bought my car and gave $300 out of my college money for the down payment. As I stand right now, I am only enrolled for 3 credit hours, but I am going to sign up for 4 more tomorrow. Does anyone know whether the health insurance companies really check to make sure you're in college and if they do... do they check the status of your enrollment? It makes me curious considering that I don't get a bill during the summer while I'm not in class.

Not sure exactly, but I have insurance through the college, and it's really cheap. Might wanna check that with yours.

I've seen that, but if I can get away with not paying the $215 for it... That's what I want to do.

I know the last 2 semesters I didn't have to submit one... Oh well... what's the worst that could happen? They charge me for insurance?

When I was in school, the insurance company would send a paper to be signed by the college confirming full time enrollment status.

I went to the doctor during my 2nd semester my freshman year. About 2 months later the insurance company wanted to confirm that I was in college full time before they would pay the doctor bill. They sent a paper that I had to fax to the college insuring that I was in class full time when I visited the doctor.

Edit: Oops, Delta Dental is their dental insurance (duh). Not sure what insurance company they go through for medical purposes.
