I'm going to get health insurance soon and I'm having a hard time choosing the best plan. I was wondering if some of you with experience could give me some pointers. The only medical condition I have is Hypothyroidism and I take Synthroid for it. This requires me to go have my TSH levels checked every 3-6 months which runs around $200 for office visit and lab work. I may be looking at getting some tests done to see if I have kidney stones or a gall bladder problem so I need to get on the ball with this and get some coverage incase the tests are ridiculously high.

I'm thinking about Blue Cross/Blue Shield but the rates are kinda high:
PLAN A:
Annual Deductible/Base Rate
$2500/$108.87
$1000/$122.29
$500/$130.71
$250/$136.39

PLAN B:
$5000/$82.52
$2500/$92.00
$1000/$103.07
$500/$110.40
Plan Comparison

Any suggestions on the above or maybe different companies would be very appreciated.

Thanks,
-Jason

Current condition with many upcoming tests and visits?.....go with lowest deductible.

Since you listed PLAN A, I assuem you can afford the premium. PLAN B is good if you earn lower wages (or have a tight budget) and you seem to always be healthy and never visit the doc much at all.

Therefore I think you should go with PLAN A/$250.
