I know that alot of companies are not offering or taking away health insurance from it employees due to rising insurance cost. Does anyone think the reason health insurace cost is rising so much is due to 9/11? I saw in article were the insurance companies had to pay out like billions of dollars to familes from 9/11. i forget the excat figure but i know it was some billions of dollars. what is everyone eles think about this?

There are many reasons. A few billion in relief aid has little to do with the price gouging the insurance companies are allowed to do.

It's cause people's health are becoming more of a risk (obesity, increase in cancer patients, etc)....

It doesn't have anything to do with 9/11. It's because of rising health-care costs (due to lawsuit abuse, etc.) and mismanagement by the insurance providers. The providers invest the premiums they receive from their customers, and many of them lost large sums of cash in the recession that followed 9/11. To make up for it they had to increase the premiums.

The cost of drugs and other tech-based health care is rising faster than inflation in all countries. It has little to do with your tort law regime. Beleive it or not, chemotherapy and MRIs cost more than penicillin.
